HOW MUCH DOES A HAIR TRANSPLANT COST?

 

Roughly $5,000-$15,000. Let me explain why there is such an enormous variability.

The cost of a hair transplant procedure is vastly different both nationally and internationally. This makes it difficult for the patient to decide which surgeon to choose and how much their surgery should cost. In this article, I will explain why the pricing difference exists.

 

HAIR TRANSPLANTATION IS CUSTOMIZABLE.

One of the main reasons hair transplantation costs differ so much from patient to patient is that no two patients are alike. For example, one patient may require 1000 grafts to achieve their goals, while another may need 2500 grafts.  Other patients may require even more grafts to achieve their ultimate goal over two or more hair transplants. In addition to the graft number, it also comes down to which hair transplantation procedure they receive—for example, FUT or FUE. The time, skill, and surgical tech team needed for FUT vs. FUE are very different, as FUE is a much more tedious procedure due to the method of harvest.  For the FUE procedure, our surgeons harvest every hair by hand instead of relying on robotic equipment, which results in diminished graft quality.

HOW ARE PRICES CALCULATED FOR HAIR TRANSPLANTS?

Hair Transplant pricing is done “per graft.” “Per graft basis” means we charge a fee for each graft of hair we are transplanting.  A graft is the “natural bundle” of 1-4 hairs.  The donor area offers a variety of them, and using the “natural bundles” gives our patients the most natural-looking results. Our surgeons determine the graft number required to achieve your desired results, and we calculate that number by the graft price.  Graft prices vary based on the method of harvest (FUE or FUT) and the total number of grafts transplanted (the more grafts you get, the lower the price).  We offer a discount to every returning patient if they return for additional transplants, as their native hair thins. (the transplanted hair is permanent!)

 

WHY DO YOU SEE VERY LOW PRICES FOR HAIR TRANSPLANTS IN SOME BIG CITIES AND OVERSEAS?
